Rain-Flower Terrace
Source by Rain-Flower Terrace Located in the south of the city, only 1 kilometer away from Zhonghua City Gate, Rain-Flower Terrace is one of the representative scenic spots in Nanjing which covers an area of 153.7 hectares and has many historical relics as well as beautiful scenery. It is the Site under National Protection, the Base of National Patriotism Education, and the National 4A Tourist Scenic Site.
Rain Flower Terrace was originally called Carnelian Hillock or Treasure Hillock. However, since the Southern Dynasty, When a legendary monk, Yunguang, preached the doctrines of Buddhism here. The monk was so eloquent that even the heavenly God was moved by his preach and rain flowers like a shower, hence the name “Rain Flower Terrace”.
